Kathryn Keats is a soulful singer, prolific songwriter, and unequivocal entertainer. Keats, born Ellen Christian Munger, lived in anonymity for twenty years after her former collaborator, plagued by schizophrenia, held her captive for fifty – four days. This experience culminated in a precedent-setting jury trial in Oakland, California. With the help of the Victim Witness Assistance Program Keats changed her name to Kathryn Keats and created a new identity. After her collaborator had passed she was free to record and perform again. Pete Sears of Jefferson Starship and Hot Tuna produced and tickled the ivories for her first EP upon her return. Keats says, " Is there anyone more consummate and loving than Pete Sears? Absolutely not."

Keats wrote and recorded her second CD, "After the Silence" in 2007, working with studio head and producer, Tony Valenziano. The CD features Grammy nominated, Bassist of the Year, Michael Manring.

She is thrilled to be co-writing with Multi Platinum, Grammy, Emmy Award winning producer, musician, and recording artist, Narada Michael Walden. "Kat is bringing the message of hope, light, love and faith to people's lives." Walden says. "I am proud of her and her divine mission."

Tenacity, infectious exuberance, and charisma define Kathryn Keats today. She is not one to lament the loss of time. Keats has created a theatrical concert playing such well-known venues as Yoshi’s Jazz Club, Oakland, Ca., Knitting Factory, Los Angeles, the Bitter End, NYC and the Throckmorton Theatre, Mill Valley, Ca. It is a theatrical concert filled with joy, humor, and a ton of love.
